In 1981, before digital photography became the standard, Bob Christie launched what would grow into one of the most respected names in corporate event photography: Christie’s Photographic Solutions.

Starting with a single camera and a bold idea, Bob saw an opportunity. The meetings and conventions industry wasn’t just growing—it was evolving. And it needed a visual partner that could grow with it.

By 1986, Bob focused the company solely on photographing corporate events. He never looked back.

More Than a Founder: A Man Who Moves Fast—And Thinks Long-Term

When he’s not guiding multi-city logistics or mentoring his team, Bob divides his time between two places he and his wife Lisa call home. In Crystal River, Florida, their riverside retreat offers peaceful mornings—and the occasional manatee sighting drifting by in the early months of the year. In Fort Collins, Colorado, they enjoy the open landscapes and fresh mountain air with their dog, Hobbs, often visiting neighboring horses and taking in the quiet charm of the Rockies.

He also has a passion for speed. Bob spent more than a decade racing professionally in offshore powerboat competitions, eventually winning a world championship title in 2006. These days, he races on the road instead—a bit safer, he says, but just as exciting.

That drive—both on the track and in business—has shaped the Christie’s Photographic Solutions culture.

Bob credits his stepfather for teaching him perseverance. That lesson became the foundation for how he leads and builds the business today.
